2026 Board of Directors Candidates
DW Sweetgrass HOA is pleased to introduce the candidates who have submitted their names for consideration in the 2026 Board of Directors Election.
The information below has been summarized from the self-nomination forms and supporting materials provided by each candidate. Candidate information is presented for informational purposes to assist homeowners in becoming familiar with those seeking to serve the community.
David B. Blomstrom
David Blomstrom has been a Sweetgrass resident since August 2012 and brings previous homeowners association and board experience to his candidacy.
David is a CPA and has previously served as an HOA board member. He also served as a board member and Treasurer for the City of Sugar Creek. During his professional career as a CPA and auditor, he audited numerous homeowners associations.
David believes his financial background and prior board experience would be valuable to the Association. He indicated that he would bring experience, financial acumen, and a desire to help keep Sweetgrass a strong and successful community.
Jim Troublefield
Jim Troublefield has lived in Sweetgrass for approximately 10½ years and currently has experience serving the Sweetgrass HOA as Vice President.
Jim expressed pride in the accomplishments of the current Board and its commitment to being open and transparent with the community.
As a candidate, Jim emphasizes the importance of Board cohesiveness and believes that working together effectively is an important part of serving Sweetgrass homeowners. His candidacy reflects his desire to continue contributing to the work and accomplishments of the Association.
Ray Briere
Ray Briere has lived in Sweetgrass for approximately 11½ years and has extensive committee experience within the community. His service has included two years on the Health & Wellness Committee, two years on the Neighborhood Committee including one year as Chair, and four years on the Finance Committee, including service as Secretary and Chair.
Professionally, Ray worked for 37 years in the pressure relief valve industry, including 23 years in sales and operations management and approximately 15 years as a member of a plant management team. His responsibilities included budgeting, profit-and-loss oversight, regulatory compliance, contract review and negotiation, safety, environmental matters, and management of domestic and international sales projects.
Through his work on the Sweetgrass Finance Committee, Ray has participated in annual budget reviews, monthly financial reviews, major project evaluations, vendor and equipment reviews, and recommendations concerning Association finances.
Ray believes he can contribute experience in facilities management, budgeting, problem solving, conflict resolution, contract review, negotiations, safety, and team decision-making. He is also active in Sweetgrass activities, is a member of the Photography Club, and volunteers with Helping Hands.
Cathy Winsor
Cathy Winsor has lived in Sweetgrass for more than four years and currently serves on the DW Sweetgrass Board of Directors as a Director at Large. She previously served as Board Secretary and as Chair of the Shearwater Neighborhood Representatives.
Her current Board involvement has included serving as a Board liaison to the Neighborhood Advisory Committee and LID, leading assigned projects, and chairing development of the community's Homebuyer and Newcomer Guide.
Cathy has additional HOA and community leadership experience outside Sweetgrass, including service as a Director at Large, social committee leadership, webmaster, newsletter editor, event organizer, and community volunteer.
Professionally, Cathy has extensive experience in education, training, sales, consulting, management, budgeting, presentations, strategic planning, and organizational leadership. Her career has included teaching, educational consulting, regional and vice-presidential sales leadership, hiring and training staff, developing budgets and sales goals, and delivering presentations and professional training.
If re-elected, Cathy has identified several areas she would like to continue working on, including the transition to RealManage Elevated Onsite, resident portal adoption and resources, Sweetgrass branding and promotional initiatives, LID coordination, neighborhood outreach, the 2026 HOPA survey, creation of a Landscape Committee, and future review of the Association's CC&Rs.
Cathy identifies leadership, communication, strategic planning, project management, and resident engagement as strengths she would continue to bring to the Board.
Election Voting through CiraVote
The upcoming Board Election will utilize CiraVote, a secure electronic voting platform designed to make participation simple and convenient for homeowners. CiraVote has not yet launched for this election, but eligible homeowners will receive an email with their unique voting instructions once voting opens. Alternative Voting Options
Paper ballots will be available at the Front Desk once voting begins. There will also be a locked ballot box to place ballots in on the first day of voting.
